The camp's name can be somewhat misleading as the wildebeest migration only passes through this area during a few months of the year (June-July & Oct-Nov).  Throughout the rest of the year, the regular game viewing is very good and there are resident hippo's within the river just below camp whose sounds can be enjoyed throughout the day and night.

To enter the camp you walk from your Landrover across wooden bridges which are elevated over the rocks. The reception which is adorned with dark leather couches and bronze statues, is incorporated into the main lounge area and faces the swimming pool with the room tents below.

The dining area is on a separate deck where you can dine under the stars or under canvas, depending on the weather, with beautiful views of the Ndasiata Hills and the Grumeti River.

The 20 large, elevated canvas pavilions feature hard-wood floors and leather furnishings. The tents are en-suite with showers and double vanities, surrounded by a veranda with rocking chairs. The camp owners describe it as a "perfect example of old world style, fused with contemporary luxury".

In summary, Migration Camp has been set up as a top priced luxury camp with a heavy build and colonial style. There is nothing really wrong with it except that we tend to prefer the more authentic and initimate luxury mobile tented camps that might offer less indulgences but in our opinion a deeper experience.
