Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is a large mid-market hotel which is set up to service a high volume of visitors on package safaris to this area.

A wonderful location on the eastern rim of the Crater with stunning views particularly at sunset from the gardens infront of the main building next to the swimming pool.

It also has a very good location for quick entry into the crater on the nearby "Sopa" access road.

However the interior of the hotel is large, bland and outdated with a dark red colour scheme that permeates throughout. 

All public areas are big whilst the dining room is set up to serve all meals as a buffet style so from our own experience we'd recommend you eat early rather than late!

If you really must have a crater rim location, but are not happy with the more expensive options of Crater Lodge or Lemala Camp then this can be a good option particularly for families.

Service, comfort and cuisine will all be acceptable with the location as the highlight.
