Lagoon Camp has a beautiful setting on the shady banks of the Kwando River among tall and ancient African Ebony and Marula trees. Kwando is a superb wildlife concession that attracts an abundance of big game.

The camp is made up of 8 twin bedded luxury safari-style tents. Each tent looks out over the water and has private en-suite facilities, including 24 hour hot and cold running water, open-air showers, flush toilets and modern amenities.

The main area of the camp includes a thatched restaurant area and circular bar. There is also a lounge area that houses a small library which offers a selection of wildlife books. There is a small swimming pool overlooking the river which is a great to cool off during the hot months.

One of the best features of the camp is the lovely large shady deck that is dotted with chairs and tables and overlooks the water channel alongside the camp. A family of hippo and elephants are regularly sighted from the tents. This contributes to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that prevails at Lagoon.

Activities include morning and night game drives which are conducted by the camps specialist guides and trackers in open safari vehicles. Lagoon camp is famous as the best venue in Africa for wild dog viewing as the dogs have denned near the camp every year of the camps existence. The other predators are also well represented by lion, hyena, leopard and cheetah.

A double-decker boat cruises along the Kwando River provides an excellent opportunities for birding and certain big game. The camp also offer specialist fly fand spinner fishing for Tiger fish and Bream.

Lagoon Camp has a wonderful location, friendly and helpful staff and service. However the real highlight of this camp and the other Kwando Safaris camps (Lebala, Kwara and Little Kwara) is the quality of the guiding. The guides are very knowledgable and flexible whilst working hard alongside the trackers to really delivery on game viewing.
