Lion Camp was fully rennovated in 2007 to a high standard of comfort and is a very good mid range option inside South Luangwa National Park.

There are nine canvas-and-thatch chalets, each built has its own wooden platform high above the savannah and linked to the other rooms and main area by a raised wooden boardwalk. With no fences surrounding the lodge, wildlife is free to move unhindered, under the walkways. Elephant, hippos and small antelope such as bushbuck and puku, are frequently seen in camp.

Each chalet is a solid spacious structure with canvas walls, thatched roofs and private balconys overlooking the lagoon. The rooms are well furnished with large double 4-poster beds, stand fans and ensuite bathrooms with shower and toilet.

At the heart of Lion Camp is a dramatic boma fireplace that is encircled by thatched seating areas, a copper bar, library and curio shop. fireplace. This area leads to a lower deck and infinity pool with views of the open plain in front of the lodge.

The staff are attentive and courteous, providing personalised service with attention to detail. Activities are based around game drives (day & night) and walking safaris with the camps experieced guides.
