Tortilis Camp is named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and is situated in one of Amboseli's areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland, with the majestic backdrop of Africa's highest mountain, snow-capped Kilimanjaro. Game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals take place both inside the park, and within a private 30,000 acre game concession.

The main areas feature a spacious open lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs, with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro and overlooking a nearby waterhole frequented by elephants and other wildlife.

Tortilis Camp's tents are all large and spacious, with king or twin beds and elegant en suite bathrooms. The camp also features a Private House and a new Family Tent.  The camp has recently been refurbished throughout and feels both fresh and authentic.

17 spacious en-suite tents - 9 doubles & 8 twin tents
1 family house - 1 double and 1 twin room ensuite bedrooms and a private sitting room
All rooms can fit one extra bed, for children under the age of 16 yrs only.

The lodge prides itself on its excellent food and you won’t go hungry.  Service is impeccable.  There is also a lovely pool with bar area ideal for an afternoon's relaxation or working off those lunches!

The camp feels very safe having a electric fence all the way round so a good introduction to safari for those that want to feel out in the wild but with some (unobvious) protection.
