Marlin Lodge had to be completely rebuilt after a very destructive cyclone in early 2008 and the results are very effective.  Mozambican hardwood, reed-clad brick walls and thatched ‘jecca’ roofs create a lodge that sits very well within its pristine natural surroundings.

The natural plant life is carefully preserved by elevated wooden walkways that connect the 14 seascape Luxury Beach Chalets and 3 Executive Beach Suites to the main areas.

The "welcoming hub" of the lodge consists of a large reception and seating area, curio shop and a "reading lounge" which includes a small library and board games.  Alongside is the open-air dining room, bar and cocktail lounge all of which offer uninterrupted sea views.

A wooden deck that wraps around the main buildings leads down to the water sport and wellness centre on one side and the swimming pool and beach bar on the other.

The Luxury Beach Suites all offer a sea-view and are only a few steps from the beach. Each of these suites are very spacious, with a lounge area, bedroom and open-plan bathroom with inside and outside showers. The bedroom includes a four-poster bed with mosquito netting and ceiling fan whilst the air-conditioning is a welcome luxury during the hottest months.  Large glass-sliding doors open onto a veranda, perfect for a private lunch or for watching a breathtaking sunset before dinner.

The Executive Beach Suites are very much the same but just a little bit bigger with different colour scheme and a second veranda.

Marlin Lodge has a fully equipped dive and tackle centre, with a PADI dive instructor and a water sports manager. The waters surrounding the lodge are home to a spectacular variety of fish, coral, marine mammals and plants all of which can be explored by divers and snorkellers.

We really like Marlin Lodge - it's a very relaxed and well run lodge which offers a good mix of romance for honeymooners and excellent activities for the more active and adventurous.
