Tarangire Ndovu Camp is a luxury mobile camp following the massive herds of elephant as they look for fresh water within Manyara and Tarangire parks from June to October .

The camp endeavours to retain an intimate and luxurious vibe alongside the need to respect the location, wildlife and eco tourism.   At any one time there is a maximum of eight tents, spaciously seperated with a centrally located mess tent and library.

Each tent is 10m long by 4m wide made from specially made heavy duty safari canvas. As you enter the tent, the front of the tents zips fully open, including a layer of mosquito netting and rip-stop canvas (it also zips closed completely with both layers). In the main bedroom area, you will see an arrangement of satisfying furniture like a storage chest (with extra blankets), matting, wardrobe with robes, slippers, an umbrella and laundry bag, luggage racks, torch/whistle/camp information folder, bedside tables and beds.

All the fittings depict colours in natural and tones sympathetic to the environment. There are double, twin, single, triple and family (quad) tents and each bed is fully netted for custom made protection from mosquitoes and insects. The beds are fitted with imported cotton sheets, double pillows, duvets and bed runners for comfort.

The bathrooms comprise a bathroom stand with a ceramic wash basin with running water, a mirror, a supply of natural based bathroom products. There are separate areas for a ceramic flushing toilet and shower area, with a 20 litre shower bucket on a pulley system put up as you require for a wash under the incredible African skies.

From the entrance to the bedroom and onto the bathroom, each tent is fitted with an extensive solar lighting system for your convenience.  Guests are respectfully asked to consider careful and responsible use of water and lighting when at the camp, to extend accessibility for all.

There is a magical path of lanterns between the tents and also to the mess tent. There are some kerosene lanterns but mainly a mix of solar guide lights and scented beeswax candles to create an enchanting setting to unwind after the day’s adventures. Guests can enjoy your meals in the Dining Tent, and a sundowner while sitting around the nightly wood fire.

The camp is very proud of its chefs – the creators of fine bush cuisine, using fresh produce from all over Tanzania, to offer a menu that will tantalize.

This is a fabulous little camp in Tarangire and run as part of the Nasikia Camps group which prides itself on excellent guiding, accommodation, food and all round safari experience.
