Zanzibar has become a kitesurfing mecca. However, along the east and southern Africa coastline, kitesurf centres have popped up offering a variety of kitesurf options.
Take a kitesurf course or taster session and combine with beach chill or batter yourself with as much kitesurf adrenaline as you can handle. To learn to kitesurf you’ll really need a minimum of 3 days which you can extend to a week if you want to perfect this new craze.
We would be happy to arrange a bespoke kite holiday for you. You might like to adding kitesurfing to a safari or supplement with some beach chill. All options are open to discussion and we look forward to discussing them with you.

Kitesurf holidays are increasing in popularity and we are delighted to be working with excellent centres, catering from the beginning to the advanced kiter. With warm waters and perfect wind conditions, Zanzibar tends to be the default option, with Paje being the top destination.
Wind conditions do vary and it is important to book the right time according your competency levels. The best months for beginners are January to mid-March and June to October. For experts, we would fine tune June to September and January to February when the winds tend to be stronger. However variations do occur.
The average wind speed is around 16 knots, usually increasing towards the end of the day in the late afternoon and early evening. The most commonly used kite sizes are 12, 10 and 9 meters, with some occasional 7 meter kiting, depending on your body weight and the wind speed.
